LANJARÓN LORCA

Lanjarón, a well-known mineral water brand from southern Spain, shares its origin in Granada with the poet Federico García Lorca. Lorca was assassinated by the army during General Franco’s dictatorship, an army who also ensured that all existing recordings of his voice were destroyed.

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the poet’s birth, Lanjarón set out to bring his voice back. A voice known to represent all of Andalusia.

We called on people across Andalusia to share their voices and collectively recreate Lorca’s. To make it even more powerful, we put music to one of his poems working with the emerging and now super popular band Mëstiza, giving the poet’s words a modern twist.

The resulting song even reached the Latin Grammy Awards.
